John Lewis Milton Keynes

The John Lewis department store at Milton Keynes shopping centre opened with the centre in the 1970’s and had changed very little since.

In 2011 John Lewis decided to completely refurbish the shop and update the main frontage with a new patterned glass facade and corner entrances. As the whole of the shopping centre had been listed grade 2 by English Heritage in 2010, the planned changes to the facade required listed building consent.

Pattons the main contractor appointed me to carry out a photographic survey of the main facades to act as the formal survey record before the works started. When the construction work was completed they commissioned me to make a full set of images of the exterior and interior. Architect for the work was Brooker Flynn Architects
