Whitechapel Road has undergone something of a transformation in recent years.
This colourful and vibrant quarter of London is undergoing significant regeneration starting with the famous facade of Whitechapel Art Gallery and moving East taking in many of the historic Georgian and Victorian shop fronts.
PAYE appointed me in 2011 to record the work as it proceeds and I continue to record the different phases of the project as it moves into the area around Whitechapel Market. The fine quality of the facades and the care taken in their repair and restoration is evident in the photographs.
